Fielding Estate Event Venue Space

Year-round Outdoor Tent Space

This project demonstrates strong abilities to collaborate and problem solve, unique experience in the landscaping industry, and a dedication to creating quality spaces that allow Niagara residents to enjoy the outdoors. It also demonstrates the competitive edge that landscaping can add to any business.

This client requested an outdoor tent space that would allow their customers to enjoy the Winery grounds all year round. To ensure the area was well-prepared for the new structure, a 2D and 3D design was created and multiple landscaping components required addressing, including:

  • Constructing two tiers of armour stone retaining walls to build up the area to a flat surface due to an uneven existing ground.
  • Grading and leveling the area using the appropriate machinery.
  • Replacing existing grass with a large area of artificial turf, a more durable option to outlast heavy traffic and shade.
  • Installing an additional patio area using interlocking pavers.
  • Planting a low-maintenance, culinary-friendly variety of grasses within the plateaus of the retaining walls.

When the tent is not being used in the Winter, transparent Wine Domes take its place.

Now termed the “Wine Lounge”, Fielding Estate’s wine tent has become a popular hub for Niagara residents and tourists to relax outdoors while sipping their favorite Fielding wine. When the tent is packed away for the Winter, it is replaced by transparent wine domes to ensure our clients make the most of the space despite our cold temperatures. Snips proudly continues to maintain this property, which has proved beneficial to both the winery and their clients!

Measurements and Logistics:

  • The tent measured 40 x 60 feet, fitting perfectly within the retaining wall gardens and the newly constructed patio.
  • All equipment necessary to complete the project was owned and operated by Snips Landscape.
