Changing Seasons

I get into a routine and finally get my groove going and then the seasons change and my routine is uprooted and planted upside down. This is crazy but one of the best reasons why I love doing what I do. In the landscaping industry you can never get bored of doing the same thing over and over. I wear many hats on a day to day that picking out what to wear can be a challenge.

Right now I am gearing up for winter and getting everything prepped for snow removal.  One of the biggest challenges is getting into the 2 am wake up to check the weather. The weather man is not a trusted friend in my world so I wake up everyday to look out the window to see if there are any surprises in white waiting for me to take on.

There is a lot of other behind the scenes preparations that are happening as I yawn my way through the day. Snow plows have to be gone over and set up on vehicles. Salt trucks and tractors are also transformed into their new function and waiting to go. Luckily I don’t have to perform these tasks as I have staff to iron that out. While all of the equipment is prepped, I am found going over route lists, employee training, and educating myself in the latest technology for snow removal.

So with all of the preparation and training, here’s to a new season!
